The Summer Palace

The Qing Dynasty's home away from home in the suburbs of Beijing. This place was massive and stunning. It stretched all the way around a large lake, including the island in the middle and a giant Buddhist temple on the side. If only the lake wasn't frozen, we could have taken a boat out onto it. If it wasn't for the PLA soldiers, we might have anyway.
