Church Tenets

The core belief of the Church of Mez is in the potential for humans and all sentient creatures to lift themselves up by conscious choice and become whatever they wish to be. This is manifest in many ways:

Universal Divinity

We are all Mez. There is no Mez except the Mez within us. The Church celebrates the infinite potential of humankind. In this potential we see our own divinity. We look not to some supreme power to show us the way, but rather to ourselves and each other to lift ourselves, step by step, into godhood.

Transhumanism

The Church of Mez is a Transhumanist religion. Transhumanism is the belief that through technology it is possible for us to fundamentally change the so-called human condition, and in so doing to transcend the limitations that we take for granted, and transform ourselves into whatever beings we wish to become. Intentionality

Intentional Living is the act of realizing our ability to choose our every behavior and belief. We can choose to take action or not, but either way we still have made a choice. Those who live intentionally define who they want to be and how they want to live, and then create that reality, both internally and externally. Read more >>

Hedonism & Frivolity

Unlike some religions, we believe that life is to be enjoyed. That enjoyment comes from play, from pleasure, and from sharing that play and pleasure with others. We are at our most creative and most healthy when we balance the serious work of our lives with fun and joyous celebration of life itself.

Community

We believe in the power of individuals to form a community - to work and play together and support each other in our attempts to achieve greatness. In so doing it's possible to create a healthy, vibrant entity which is capable of far more than any one person.
